Hour of Reckoning

[OOC: This scene goes out on CNN, ABC Family, The Family Channel, and many local stations. While this "print" format of the Sonoma Voice is usually a text format this next story is a TV format. Translate the visuals into something that your character would understand. Meaning if you watched the TV show, if you read the review or just had someone tell you about it.]

[OOC: The following occurs on the Nationally televised show: "Hour of Reckoning". This show is hosted by Reverend Bill Corum, a widely popular and influential evangelical minister. His shows avoid the usual sideshow quality of such programs and focus on how people can help themselves, and how God can assist them with that. Reverend Bill is an attractive and charismatic man in his 40s who always dresses nicely, but not like a celebrity. The show is normally on a variety of cable and local television channels, but recently, his ministry has bought time slots on CNN, The Family Channel, ABC Family, and other larger stations. The program is joined near its end...]

Rev Bill: "Brothers and sisters...I have one more thing we must talk about today. I'm going to ask you to draw your families close to you, to hug your wives and husbands and children tight. You see, brothers and sisters, we have to talk about the minions of the Devil."

[OOC: gasps in the audience and a fairly typical amount of murmuring]

RB: "For too long, we have let the minions of the Devil wander among us. We have focused our attention on our brothers and sisters who have lost their way, and NOT on the demons that plague us, that seek to kill our CHILDREN! But no more."

[OOC: Hallelujahs from the audience, various shouts of devotion.]

RB: "Now brothers and sister, now there will be a Reckoning! The hand of the Lord will reach out to these minions of evil, these wicked beasts in the night, and he will smite them with a FIERY AND TERRIBLE VENGEANCE! NO MORE will we let them kill police officers in Little Rock! NO MORE will we tolerate them using Titusville as a staging point for SATAN against our God-fearing President! NO MORE will they destroy our homes in Port Huron or Olympia! Now, brothers and sisters, we will take the fight to THEM! We will stand up to them and say 'Satan! Get thee BEHIND ME!!!"

[OOC: Thunderous applause. Shouts of 'Amen'.]

RB: "And to show you just how serious this is, I have brought in my own special investigator to look into these places and the other cities where the minions of Satan live, the worshippers of Murder, the leeches on the body of the Faithful! Isn't that right....Brother Caiaphus?"

[OOC: From the side curtain, an elderly man walks out. He could be 70, he could be 50, it is impossible to tell. His frame is strong, and his gait is steady. His hawkish nose is framed by two piercing grey eyes and a tightly cropped mane of gray hair. He is dressed in a simple black suit and white shirt. The television graphic beneath him reads: "Brother Caiaphus Smith, Special Investigator of the Reckoning". Caiaphus smiles at the Reverend and shakes his hand.]

Caiaphus: "Yes Reverend Bill...it is time for the Lord's work to be done. And I will find each and every minion of Satan in their homes, and cast them out. Hallelujah."

[Fade to credits]

[OOC: Any individuals with Camarilla, Hunter Lore, or Kindred Lore 2+ will recognize the name Caiaphus Smith and will know the equivalent of the following information. Caiaphus Smith is considered to be the single most dangerous human being on the planet. He has been responsible for the deaths of entire /domains/ worth of Kindred, BY HIMSELF. The Camarilla has foregone placing him on the Red List because he is just too dangerous. Instead, the standing order is to abandon any city he assaults to prevent him from obtaining Kindred blood to prolong his life. It hasn't worked for over a hundred years.]

Nazi Crime Declining Across the Globe

(REUTERS) - January 15, 2004

BOSTON, MA- A recent report published by Tufts University shows that the Nazi and white supremecist movements have dramatically decreased their involvement in violent crime in the last five months. The study examined the most recent statistics from the FBI, DHS, and Interpol.

In the wake of the terrorist actions undertaken by cell of Tott Kommando skinheads in Rincon, GA on last July 24, white supremecist groups have been under the government microscope. Under the intense scrutiny, the more violent offenders appear to have gone to ground or cleaned their acts up. Interpol spokesperson Miranda Browne summed the situation up, “It would appear that the United States response to the events of 7-24 put the proverbial ‘fear of god’ in the nazi community across the globe. Simply put, nobody wants to be the next target in the American War on Terror.

“Perhaps we will have an opportunity here to finally put this chapter of our past to rest. I’m not so naïve to think that is definitely the case, but there is cause for hope.”

Brian Anderson, a representative for the Ku Klux Klan, cast the report in a different light. “What we see here is simply proof of what I’ve been telling people for years. Groups like the Tott Kommando are fringe extremists who are not representative of the movement. Times have changed and we are not boogey men. Its refreshing to see that the government will finally admit that we aren’t thugs, and I can only hope that the media will follow suit.”
