Deaf Hospice Training Program in Minnesota

About 28 million people in the US have a hearing loss--of these, 4 to 5 million are profoundly deaf. About one-half to 2 million use ASL as their primary mode of communication.

As of April 1998 the National Hospice Organization (NHO) reported that of approximately 3,200 operational or planned hospices programs, only 2 hospices have programs serving deaf, hard-of-hearing and deaf/blind people--New York & Kentucky. We in Minnesota are creating the third. How about your community?
