I Love You, Michael 1995

At first glance, she appears to sign I Love Mondays. But my husband, Michael, has a similar "signed name" and I do love him much more than Mondays! Signed names are given by a Deaf person to make it easier to refer to someone than constantly fingerspelling. Commonly the name may refer to an outstanding attribute such as curly hair or short or artist. I created this sculpture for Michael while we were courting. Since then he has been very instrumental in making ASL in Clay the success it is. He set up the homepage, and he helps with sculpture firings, exhibits, and computer and promo projects. Without Michael Rosen's contributions, ASL in Clay would not be.
