And so it begins...

Monday was my last day of work (at least for some time).

I have a biomedical engineering degree from Johns Hopkins. I’ve had a 15 year successful career developing and introducing new medical devices to the market.  I have a husband and 2 young boys and spent the last five years doing the impossible.  It’s cliche but true: I’ve had two full time jobs.  I have lived my life being the archetype independent self sufficient woman, and now I have decided to stay home and take care of my family and our home.  My oldest son is autistic.  I’d like to say that it doesn’t make a difference, but it does.  Modern day feminism is alive and well in my heart yet I look forward to baking cookies and PTA meetings.

I have no idea what I’m in for or how I am going to feel.  For people who know me, this blog may just be additional communication and insight.  For the web surfer out there, perhaps they are looking for information or answers to some of my same questions and explorations.  I hope it’s a small world after all.
