Double Trouble

The 'Double Trouble' has
twin booms and fins and uses two .25 size motors. As you can see, the motors are mounted
at opposite ends of the fuselage and point in opposite directions. One motor pulls while
the other pushes the plane through the air. There are many advantages to this 'Push Pull'
motor setup. The props spin in opposite directions (counter rotation), which minimizes the
effect of torque on the aircraft both on the ground and in the air. Also, with both motors
on the same trust line, the only change you'll see if one motor stops running is a
reduction in the speed of the plane. I am using a servo in each wing for aileron control
and three more servos for steering, throttle, and elevator for a total of five. You
can use the standard four-servo setup if you wish. The Double Trouble has a 52"
wingspan and weighs 5 1/2 pounds ready to fly. The Double Trouble wing decal
is now available. Order plans.
