TAU'S PHOTO SCRAPBOOK
The following photos of Mars have been provided courtesy of Tau Edison Wolfsinger of NASA - Ames Research Center along with his comments regarding his recent trip:

I don't know about you, but people often ask me how big the Mariner Valley is on Mars. So I drew the outline of the United States on a Mars photo I shot from orbit. As you can see, it's big. This puts the Vulcan's Forge colony in California.

This is a close-up photo of Valles Marineris from orbit. The Tharsis uplift region, and the Vulcan's Forge colony, are to the left, off the edge of the photo.

While we were still in orbit, I got this photo of the thin Martian atmosphere. Here we're looking northeast across the Argyre basin.
