Charles Montgomery Burns is the rich owner of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. He is very greedy old man and has a might hump on his back. He is  Homers  boss (but can never remember who Homer is).

Mr Burns is in very poor health. He uses various life extending techniques to keep him alive. Physically, he is as helpless as a little baby.

 Smithers  is his loyal assistant to who he owes all his success. Burns is a smart business man, but could not even get around in the real world without Smithers.

Mr. Burns can be very evil. His Power Plant pollutes the town and he regulary bribes inspectors. He doen't have any morals, and will do anything to earn a buck.

Mr. Burns can sometimes be sentimental and compassionante, but is hated by most of Springfield for good reason. He does have a heart - even if it is 3 times too small.
