Aker

Looking off into the distance, as if contemplating the mysteries of the universe, a regal king of beasts stands before you. This lion is much like his fellows, tall, muscular, with a sense of ancient power about him. His mane is a wild cascade of burnished red, so deep it looks like darkened copper with blackened tips. Deep amber eyes, slitted like a cat's, bore deep into the soul of who ever he gazes upon. A dark outline rims his eyes and his twitching ears while the rest of his facial fur is the color of desert sand. Its a rare a smile crosses the stern expression of his facade, but the sense that he is a good and kind being is felt.
As you bring your gaze down, you see the muscular expance of his bared chest, the fur thin so the tough skin beneath can be seen. The subtle lines of his muscles can be seen beneath his thin pelt from his chest to his narrow waist. Long strong arms end in thick, white, paw like hands. Upon his chest a tattoo is seen, bright and colorful against the pale fur of his chest. The tattoo shows two stylized lions sitting back to back with two mountain peaks between them. Nestled between the peaks, a solar disk is seen bright red in color while the lions are shades of yellow and brown and the peaks black. No shirt covers his chest so all may see this symbol of his name. On his upper arms, bronze bands with heiroglyphs etched into them stand out against his light fur, only the one of the right has a bit of hemp rope twined around it and two red ibis feathers attached. Around his wrists, a pair of enchanted bronze bracers, etched with the same hieroglyphs as his armbands, offer their protection and support.
Covering his hips, a wrapping of white linen, looking vaguely like a kilt, gives him some modesty. The linen is edged in a golden satin with heiroglyphs stitched along the edges and simple and short fringe. Strong legs support this feline, further enhancing the fact he is a warrior of high degree. His feet are plantigrade and shod with simple sandles bound on with hemp rope. Protecting his shins and knees, a pair of bronze guards are tied in place with leather thongs. The shin guards have an etching similar to his tattoo on each and have two white ibis feathers attached to them. He carries a large steel broadsword that looks to be quite heavy in its scabbord on his waist, and a single large sheild, which he keeps slung across his back.
His sword is rather nondescript, more just for battle than for show like some. His shield, is large and round with inlay of bronze around the edge like sun rays. In the center, two bronze and gold lions sit back to back with ivory on the paws. Between the lions, onyx has been inlayed to form the mountains. For the solar disk nestled between the peaks, a rare red gold has been molded, giving this sheild more than just its apparent use. When this lion turns his gaze towards you, he gives only a brief nod then returns to gazing off into the distance.

Background:	Aker is the Double Lion God, Guardian of the Sunrise and Sunset. As a warrior, he has fought by Bast's side long ago in the forgotten past to protect not just their people, but all of the upper and lower kingdoms of Egypt. He was there when his sister's people were wiped out. It was at her insistance that he not avenge them for her. As the people that once worshipped him, and his siblings and parents, began to forget about him, he took to exploring beyond the borders of his beloved Egypt. In all the greatest wars, he helped the sides of good, usually in a disguise so that no one would recognize him as being a god. Decades became centuries as more and more stopped believing in the ancient ways and traditions, weakening him like his brothers and sister until he, too, had to return to his desert home and seek refuge among the ruins and pyramids to rest. He awoke near the time of the Great Change to aid his siblings in their quest to save the world. After the Great Change, he took to wandering the world, exploring every country and continent. Much time was spent in each to learn the locals and their traditions. It is he that keeps track of the mortal realm and helps the guardians as needed, often lending his sword to those in need
Misc Info:	Aker is a very strong warrior, using his own brute strength to win rather than the abilities he was born with. In his ages long explorarion, he has learned many fighting techniques. His two prime weapons, his broadsword Sunlance, and his shield, the Heart of Djew, are enchanted. By his command, the sword can glow brightly and burn his opponents as if they were touched by a firey brand. The sheild, when in use causes a blinding white light which beats back the darkness and forces back the undead and forces of the night if it doesn't kill them. The solar disk in the center of the sheild was imbued with the very power of the sun, giving it the defensive ability against the dark.
