Anubis

Standing proud and strong before you is a canine of unfathomable power. His stern gaze looks right through you as if you weren't there, but the twinkle in his dark eyes tell he is paying attention those that dare to look upon him. Sharp pointed ears, rimmed in black fur, stand perked atop his skull as if he is always listening to something far off. His canine face is full of sharp angles, even his muzzle is long and narrow with sharp edges. Dark brown fur covers most of his head and ears, leaving just a bit of lighter brown to cover his chin and front of his neck to where the fur stops at his chest and shoulders.
The rest of this proud male is lightly tanned skin with out mar or blemish anywhere on him. He has a lean build, but muscles can be seen rippling beneath his smooth skin with each breath and move he makes. With only exception of a simple vest of blue, green and gold, his chest is bare. Around his waist, he was a skirt similar to a kilt, wrapped several times and tied off with a tassled rope. Strong toned legs show he is no slacker when it comes to physical labors. On his feet, he wears a pair of black sandles only. Around one ankle, he wears a strnge looking band of gold with heiroglyphs etched into the surface. On his wrists, he wears a similar pair of golden bracers. A pair of gold hoop earings adorn his ears about half way up the outer edge. When he finally decides to acknowledge your presence, he gives only a brief nod then turns his gaze to the horizon.

Background:	Anubis played his part in the ancient world well, guiding and protecting the newly dead to the Hall of Maat and weighing their hearts against the Maat Feather while his half brother Thoth recorded the results. Many he'd allow to pass into the afterlife and more still were allowed to be devoured by the soul eating beasts he kept. Many times he had wandered the world to find his own high priests and priestesses, keeping his cult strong well after the Egyptian empire faded into dust and sand. When the time of the Great Change came, he sided with Set, who he though was his father. The older god used him against his siblings during those many battles until it was revealed that Osiris was his true father. He had always known Isis was his adopted mother, but didn't know his true mother was one of the many that threw themselves to the wind instead of lasping into the dreaded sleep from lost worshippers. Betrayed, he turned against Set and helped the guardian and his brothers and sisters capture and imprison the dark god in a crystal for all eternity. Since that day, he has sought to redeem himself to his brethren in what ever ways he could and keeping watch over the guardians in their various forms and ways
