| Background: | WinterSky, better known as Winter or WS to her friends and family, was born in the Tourbillon de Neige province in the mountainous country of Chenu-Obier, a place known for it's military acadamies, steep slopes and fine wine vintages, though some of the artists from this region are known outside the borders. Born to the Baron, Mikal von Sabriine and Trisha Merisse von Sabriine, Winter was raised like any young child, to have pride in her country, family and liniage. At a very young age, Winter became facinated with the military life. Because of this, her father allowed her to join the Sabor-Kindre Military Acadamy, one that Mikal headed. She stayed in the acadamy until her 16th birthday, at which point, her mother insisted that she quit and take up learning the magics known to the Merissian line. While traveling to finishing school with her father, brother and several guards, they were attacked by bandits dressed in the stolen robes of Bast's priesthood. Their leader, a large mixed breed canine magician, killed her father and brother, and most of the guards, leaving those not killed to die from the elements. He took WinterSky to his base camp and kept her as a slave for a couple of years. This young tigress was put through unimaginable tortures that made her harden her heart and strengthened her will to no end. Winter never forgot what was done to her, and made plans on what she'd do if and when she'd ever see her former captor again. Somewhere along the line, Winter laid the blame of her father and brother's death on, Bast, most likely because of the robes her father's killers were wearing. By the time summer ended at the end of her fourth year in Cat's Haven, she recieved a note telling her about her mother's suicide and the death of her sisters. She blamed Bast for this also. One dark night at the beginning of winter, she overheard some information that could possibly be a way. Little did she know she wasn't going to return. While exploring in the mountains, she stumbled on a temple complex and some ruins. She took little time to snoop through, heading instead up a dark mountain, feeling a calling from somewhere up there. Before she could do anything, she was swept up and brought to a world of only darkness, the Underworld. For over a year, she lived in the Underworld, learning shadow magics from Seth and discovering new abilities within herself. As soon as she, and the others that came with seth reached the Surface world, she left and eventually gained her freedom from the dark god. Her life since leaving Seth's employ has been quiet, teching two new students and finally reaching her perfect balance. She also met a young winged tiger by the name of Kage, who she has been slowly falling in love with. |
