Harassment
In general what is and is not harassment comes down to common sense. In an attempt to make it clear: treat people on Cat's Haven as you would people in Real Life (RL) unless you have clearly agreed to roleplay otherwise.
For the purpose of the wizards, however, this is what constitutes harassment:
- Not respecting Safeword or No or leave me alone. If someone tells you not to do something to them, then don't. It is that simple. If you are telling them No, make sure that you express that it is Out of Character.
- Harassing someone maliciously about their sexuality or the like. Basically, Cat's Haven is not a place to gay bash, or pick on other people, if you do so in a way the wizards feel is malicious and non-joking, you are subject to immediate removal.
- Continued slander and/or public personal attacks.
- Other abusive behavior we did not think of at the time of this writing.
It is important, if you feel you are being harassed, that you follow these steps before finally coming to a wizard. Most of these situations are usually misunderstandings and can be resolved with out wizard intervention:
- Tell the person, clearly, that you do not wish the treatment, and make it clear that it is a Real Life (RL)/Out Of Character (OOC) request.
- If this does not work, tell the person to leave you alone, again in the same clear RL/OOC way.
- If the person persists, page #ignore the person and/or leave the room to bring the situation to and end.
- (4) If you feel the situation it requires it, then talk to a wizard. (see "wizzes" to find the right one to talk to)
Remember, in order for us wizzes to know about any continued harassment or breaks in policy, you have to let us know, or else we'll think everything is perfectly fine. Unlike some MU*s, which shall remain nameless, the wizzes of Cat's Haven will respond and take care of the matter as soon as possible.
