This is a letter of recommendation for Mr. Clark Canedy, who worked for me from July of 1988 to the end of 1996 as Chief Executive Officer of three free-standing medical clinics. Clark was responsible for all non-medical functions, including business operations, personnel decisions and all other day to day operations of the facilities. In addition to these ongoing responsibilities, Clark streamlined and updated all business office functions, including data entry, billing and collecting, and financial reporting vital to the ongoing operation and success of the facilities. He developed and implemented unique tracking systems which kept the clinics profitable during a period of decreasing State and third party payor reimbursement. Without these systems the clinics could not have survived.

Clark came to the clinics with no medical background. He quickly familiarized himself with all operations of the facilities, including medical treatment to fully understand all aspects of the operation. Clark is a self starter with an analytical approach toward problem solving. He faces each new situation cautiously, until he "owns it" and then aggressively pursues creative solutions.

Clark worked extremely well with and was highly respected by the staff. He was responsible for hiring, terminating and reviewing a staff of 100 people. Those who worked for Clark found him to be exacting, but honest, fair, consistent and even-tempered.

Clark is also an innovator. He developed ideas for insurance products that were extremely creative and helped develop a State wide network of occupational medicine clinics.

Clark has many strong attributes from a business standpoint. However, his real strengths are in his fundamental personal makeup. He is honest, loyal, self-effacing, courageous and a pleasure to work with. I have only the highest regard for Clark Canedy.

I have known Clark for approximately 8 years. I first knew him when he worked as Overall Director for services of medical clinics· Subsequently when I sold my business to St. Joseph's, Clark represented them in the transaction. I was so impressed with his business acumen that I requested my new partner to allow Clark to work with me and them as Overall Manager of Operations.
