The Kerr Speech and Debate team attended the Deer Park Speech and Debate Tournament Sept 5 & 6 Fri-Sat in Deer Park, Texas. 41 schools attended with over 1000 contestant.

Kerr High traveled with Elsik to Deer Park with a young 11 member team. Kerr’s team was able to break out of prelims and go on to finals with 9 participants.
They were Joel A. in poetry, John A. in prose, Nick B. in prose, Meru K. in original oratory and novice extemp, Napar K. in impromptu, Thomas K. in novice extemp and Lincoln Douglas debate, Jonny N. in novice extemp, Koplan N. in impromptu and extemp, Nikki W. in prose, Sarafarazali K. in original oratory and Lincoln Douglas debate, and Ann M. in Lincoln Douglas debate,

For the first tournament and such a short time, Kerr had an outstanding showing beating out many talented schools in the south Texas area. The excited and proud team would like to thank Kerr’s student body and faculty for their support and wishes.
