Cargo Capacity: 12,000 square feet vehicle storage and 40,000 cubic feet of vehicle storage space
Troops: about 930 in LPD 4-6, 14 and 15; 840 in LPD 7-10, 12 & 13
Aviation: helicopter landing area and hanger except LPD-4 has no hanger
Crew: about 402 (28 officers + 374 enlisted)
Misc Notes: Largest class of LPD's presently built. Slep program to extend service life cancelled, now to be replaced by San Antonio Class. Originally mounted 8-3 inch guns, but they were removed by early 1990's. LPD's 7-10, 12 & 13 have an additional bridge level and are configured to serve as flagships
