Our Constitution is, in reality our "Contract With God". We know what a contract is, but
just what is a constitution? The dictionary defines a constitution as "a system of
fundamental laws and principals of a government, state, society corporation, etc. written
or unwritten." On May 14th 1787, the Constitutional Convention began at Independence Hall.
For months our forefathers debated what should and what should not be the law of the land.
In September of 1787, they presented to the nation a proposed form of government, to be
voted upon by the people. The US Constitution was ratified and became effective, (the Law)
in 1789. Since that time, it has been the contract by which we govern and are governed. What should not be overlooked, however, is that our Constitutional government is based primarily on Biblical principals. The writings of many of our leaders, past and present, attest to this fact. One of our presidents (Truman) put it this way: "The fundamental basis of this nation’s laws was given to Moses on the Mount. The fundamental basis of the Bill of Rights comes from the teachings we get from Exodus and St. Matthew, from Isaiah and St. Paul. I don’t think we emphasize that enough these days, If we don’t have a proper fundamental moral background, we will finally end up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except the state." The association of God and His Word with the founding of our nation cannot be denied, despite the best efforts of liberal politicians and the A.C.L.U. President Ronald Regan once said, "If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a Nation gone under." Jedediah Morse, the Father of American Geography said, " All efforts to destroy the foundations of our holy religion, ultimately tend to the subversion also of our political freedom and happiness. Whenever the pillars of Christianity shall be overthrown, our present republican forms of government, and all the blessings that flow from them, must fall with them." Clearly it has been recognized since the founding of our nation that we have a unique national relationship with the Almighty. God has been involved with the founding of this nation just as surely as He was with the establishment of the nation of Israel. (Note the day the conversion began -May 14th -the same day Ben Gurion announced the birth of the nation of Israel in 1948.) George Washington, president of the Constitutional Convention said: "If to please the people , we offer what we ourselves disapprove, how can we afterward defend our work? Let us raise a standard to which the wise and honest can repair; the event is in the hand of God." In fact, were it not for prayer and divine intervention, the Constitutional Convention of 1787 may have adjourned in utter failure. The story goes that as the Convention teetered on the edge of failure, Benjamin Franklin stood up and motioned that "henceforth, prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven and its blessing on our deliberations be held each morning before any business was convened." It was soon thereafter that a brilliant compromise was made ensuring the success of the convention and the new government. Therefore, is it not logical to consider our Constitution to be more than just a contract between ourselves? Is it not also a contract between this nation and God? This Constitution has held us in good stead for over 200 years, but while that is true we have encountered enemies that would like to change our existing laws and principals of government to exclude any reference to God. And those factions that take pleasure in creating internal dissension are doing so from within our very borders. They consist largely of individuals and elements like the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and its allies. The ACLU was formed some 80 years ago and has systematically eroded away, little by little, the precious freedoms our constitution was established to protect. The ACLU by its own admission is communistic and that it wants to see this nation become communist. There is a long list of things the ACLU supports and an equally long list of things they are against. Here are some of the things they support: Legalization of homosexual marriage Legalization of child pornography Legalization of prostitution Legalization of live sex acts in public Legalization of sex between adults and children The ACLU defends the North American Man Boy Love Association whose motto is "sex before 8 or it is too late." Removing "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance Removing our motto "In God We Trust" from our money Her are a few things the ACLU is against: Parental notification for minors having abortion School vouchers Student prayer in schools Nativity scenes on public property Tax exception for churches Posting of the Ten Commandments on public property Prayers before high school football games "Abstinence before marriage" sex education (Those who have a computer can verify these facts and many more by going to "ACLU opposes") The ACLU and its allies are our, your’s and my, enemy, they are the enemy of our nation and the enemy of God. So Maybe like me you are asking what can I do about this? I am just some insignificant loner. I have been much in prayer about this and the other morning I woke very early and this concern was on my mind and somehow I was reminded that I took some kind of oath, but I couldn’t remember ever taking any kind of oath. Than the thought jumped into my head, when I went into the military (WWII) I took an oath to defend this nation from all enemies both foreign and domestic... That oath has never been revoked, it still stands. And at my station in life the lest I can do is pray and fast, and encourage others to do likewise. I know from personal experience how powerful prayer is and pray daily that the finances of the ACLU will dry up and that confusion will reign in their camp, that they will become confounded and deceitful toward one another and that if they do not repent and turn to God for forgiveness they will become ashamed and perish. And for precedence for such prayer I was led to Isa 41:11-13 "Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee." A few weeks ago I was having breakfast with an evangelist who told me of a 3 week mission trip he was on in Jamaica. He took his thirteen year old daughter along thinking it would enhance her education by being exposed to a different culture. His daughter visited the local school where they opened the school day with prayer. His daughter asked one of the students if they always opened the school day with prayer. The reply was, "yes we do, don’t you do that in your school?" The pastor’s daughter said, "no, its against the law where I live." The Jamaica student responded with, "I’m glad I live where we have freedom." Doesn’t that tell you something? While we in this country have been so busy with wars, the economy, political wranglings, and a host of other distractions, the ACLU and its allies have been at work systematically destroying every thing good and wholesome in our country. We haven’t been watching our back, and now we are in trouble. It is about time we got our head out of the sand, and like George Washington said: Let us raise a standard to which the wise and honest can repair; and put our situation in the hand of God. We have available the most awesome power in the entire universe, "Prayer," we have access to the power that created the entire cosmic universe but unless we call on that power, it remains present or potential but not evident or active. It is as though the ACLU and its allies have awakened the proverbial sleeping lion, but if the lion is like the cowardly lion of the Wizard of Oz, the enemy will continue to prevail. Dr. James Kennedy, Coral Ridge Ministries, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, with their "Reclaiming America for Christ, and James Dobson’s "Focus on the Family," along with the "Alliance Defense Fund" in Phoenix, Arizona, and The American Center for Law and Justice in Washington D.C. and a few others like the unreserved, outspoken Bill O’Reilly of Fox News have come to life and are doing what they can to champion the cause of this Christian Nation by opposing the ACLU and its despicable allies in the courts of the land and wherever else they can. But every Christian believer is part of that "Contract with God" to defend this nation from this traitorous deceitful godless double dealing satanic enemy. We implore every Christian to support these Christian warriors and to pray daily for this nation, and to use as precedent for that prayer the words of Isaiah 41:11-13 shown above. This terrible enemy can be defeated and will be defeated by the "Standard We Raise". Our churches are negligent in not exposing these truths and instructing the people to pray for the nation. In addition to the prayer suggested above (Isaiah 41:11-13), we are admonished in 2 Chron 7:14 to seek God’s intervention. "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." It is not only the pastor’s responsibility to raise a standard against this enemy but it is ours as well. James 5:16 "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." This applies to the ladies just as much as it does to the men. Not only that, but what we see the ladies do when they have a mind too is awe-inspiring, the ACLU will go the way of the Nazis, the KKK, and the Communists if the ladies get after them by seeking God’s intervention. Let us all raise a standard and let God know He has a remnant here that love Him and love America, and want to see this nation remain: Note: Visit your local book store or contact the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) 15333 N.
