Sit Walk Stand Run Rest

We learn from God’s word in the book of Ephesians Chapter 2 verse 6 to Sit: "And (He) hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus." After we sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, verse 10 tells us: "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." Finally we are told in verse 11 to "Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."

We are positionally seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. We also are ordained that we should walk in good works, and put on the armor of God and stand against the devil.

Is that all that’s expected of a Christian? We freely received salvation through faith by the grace of God and nothing more, nothing else. Do we just sit back now and watch as the enemy proceeds to destroy everything that God has provided, His precepts, His Word, even His love. And the enemy, the devil, uses God’s creation, His very people to wreck havoc, remove God from our schools, no longer allow public prayer using the name of Jesus, remove all references to Jesus from the Christmas celebration, separate Church and State, making it an offence to use the name Jesus in public, and much more. Entire organizations have sprung up in our country, with the explicit purpose of removing anything and everything that has anything to do with the Christian faith. Are we to just sit on our laurels and watch it happen? Not for a moment! In addition to our "Sit–Walk–Stand" we must also "Run"

"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God" ( Hebrews 12:1-3). And "Holding forth the word of life; that I (we) may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I (we) have not run in vain, neither labored in vain, (Philippians 2:16). "Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain," (1 Corinthians 9:24).

It is not an easy thing to sit still while all around us speaks of rebellion and world calamities, greed, corruption, and ungodliness. We want to walk away from all of that, and take a stand for what is right and true and honest and just and pure and lovely and of good report (Philippians 4:8)

We are to "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world, And "the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever," (1 John 2:15-17)."...that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God," (Colossians 4:12).

"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage," (Galatians 5:1). "Only let your conversation (your life style) be as it becometh the gospel of Christ:.. that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel." (Philippians 1:27). "Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, (Colossians 3:13). "With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love." (Ephesians 4:2). As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:(Colossians 2:6.) For it is written in Hebrews 4:8-11, ".... There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief."

"Don't let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense (eloquent articulation of words) that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ," (Colossians 2:8 NLT).

It is past time that those who have entered the rest of God mobilize and rally behind our Captain of the Host, Jesus of Nazareth, with the common purpose of routing this enemy from within our midst. We must not just sit there, the time to get involved is NOW! lest our nation be transformed (changed) into that socially accepted but deceived worldly realm.

One thing we can all do is spend more carpet time before the throne of Grace, appealing to "Our Father which art in Heaven" for His mercy, His peace, His love, and His intervention in the preservation of this, our nation as "One Nation Under God." as was intended by our forefathers, the founders of this great American federation.

† Go tell it on the mountain *over the hills and everywhere *go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is Lord. +
