Solomon's Porch
Redemption
|
Read the articles on Repentance and Forgivness In the first of these three letters on the Porch, we talked about the importance of "Repentance" Now Lets take look at "Redemption" We could assume from reading God's word that He had a least three plans of redemption. Or maybe it was simply that if plan "A" failed He would go to plan "B" and if that didn't work He would put plan "C" into action. That is certainly how man would do it. That is the strategy of the human mind, we tend to try to meet all of our circumstances, both great and small with a fall back plan, even great wars are planned and fought having alternate or fall back options. If plan "A" goes sour, shift to plan "B" right away. There is nothing wrong with that, but that's not how our Creator and Master of the universe works. He simply continues with the same plan, but reveals it to us in different ways. When we think His plan "A" seems not to be working, God knows, and He simply shows us plan "A" over again in a way that we may understand. God doesn't change, we do. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever.(Heb 13:8) For I am the LORD, I change not...(Mal 3:6) God's plan never changes, He just reveals the same plan to us couched in a little different language or view. When God first revealed His plan of Redemption He did so with "signs" And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven ... and let them be for signs. (Gen 1:14) "The heavens are telling the glory of God; they are a marvelous display of his craftsmanship. Day and night they keep on telling about God. Without a sound or word, silent in the skies, their message reaches out to all the world. (Ps 19:1-3 TLB) Many of the ancients at one time must have understood what God was telling them, or rather showing them. In the scriptures such as in Job, we see things like,"Can you hold back the movements of the stars? Are you able to restrain the Pleiades or Orion? Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth (the Zodiac) in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons? Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth? (Job 38:31-33,) They knew the ordinances of heaven, whether they understood or not is another matter. Modern Israel (1961) issued a set of 13 postage stamps showing the 12 constellations on individual stamps and all of them in a circle on a larger higher value single stamp. Israel has long been involved with the signs of the heavens, even their Soncino Talmud Volume 16 speaking of God says, "Twelve constellations have I created in the firmament..." Each of these constellations have three "DECANS" (as they are called) or lesser stars and when taken together with the major star tell a story pointing to Jesus. The first of these is "Virgo" The Virgin and tells the story of a virgin who shall conceive and bear a Son. This Son is the Branch and seed of the woman, and He will bruise the head of the serpent. He is the desired one of all nations. He is despised of men, but He sacrifices Himself for them. He is coming again as a reaper, to trample and burn the lost, but to harvest the redeemed. "Libra" The Balances (or scales) convey the idea of purchase. Jesus came to buy or redeem us. "Scorpio" The Scorpion. In the ancient times scorpions were known as the seed of the serpent. Here we have the conflict between the seed of the woman (Jesus) and the seed of the serpent. "Sagittarius" is the conqueror who shall return with judgement upon the wicked, the one who has Satan and his angels cast out. "Capricornus" The goat-fish tells the story of Jesus the sacrificial goat who bore our iniquities so that we, the fish, may live. "Aquarius" The Water Bearer. The Messiah of Israel shall pour out streams of living water. "Pisces" The Fishes is the Southern and Northern kingdoms united. "Aries" The Ram (lamb) (the name was changed from Lamb to Ram by the Greeks) who will deliver the enthroned woman from the sea monster who is Satan. "Taurus" The Ox tells the story of the judge (Tarus) that shall spread the gospel and gather the believers. "Gemini" The twins is the story of how Ephraim (the scattered Northern kingdom) and Judah (the Southern kingdom) shall be reunited. "Cancer" The Crab (sheepfold) tells the story of the sheepfolds of the redeemer. The Good Shepherd died to ransom (redeem) His sheep. "Leo" The Lion gives the message of the Lion of Judah who shall trample upon the wicked at His coming. He shall pour out His cup of wrath upon those that do wickedly. The earliest charts of the Zodiac were Hebrew. The Greeks derived their knowledge from the Hebrews, the Romans got their information from the Arabs, who also received it from the Hebrews. The Prophets of the Bible declare that the constellations were given as signs, and that the Lord has numbered and named the stars. The signs of the Zodiac can be found in almost every nation of the earth. Almost all cultures of the world made use of the Zodiac using the same signs, except for the Chinese, one of whose earlier emperors had them changed to horse, dog, chicken, etc. Then one day a new star appeared in the heavens and God sent His only begotten Son. All the signs of the stars (Zodiac) were fulfilled. The Zodiac is no longer needed. Emanuel, God is with us. So what happened to the Zodiac? Satan, the great thief, forger and counterfeiter took over and turned it into the Horoscope (or is that Horrorscope) it is used for fortune telling and other Satanic rituals, things to be avoided by Christians at all cost. "I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside..."(Ps 101: 3) (Time and space will not allow for a detailed explanation of the signs in the heavens. Each of the signs of the Zodiac with their three "Decans" would occupy about three pages.) For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver. He paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. ( 1Peter 1: 17-19 NLT) Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; (Ps 107:2) After the heavenly signs, God decided to reveal His Plan of redemption to man here on the earth as well as in the stars and the heavens. He did so with the same plan laid out before us in the Tabernacle where He said "And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them." (Ex 25:8) It seemed that He wanted man to realize the closeness they could have with Him. But it also seemed that man did not want God to be too close. "And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off. And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die. (Ex 20:18-19) They apparently did not want God too close to them. So God had His plan written and gave it to them (and us) Now with the Holy Bible we are without excuse, His plan of "Redemption" is in our hands and can be made available everywhere and in every tongue and language. Watch for the opportunities God gives you every day to tell someone about ..."and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (Isa 9:6) "JESUS" |
