Edward left his family when John Edward was about 5 and they never saw
him again.
October 9, 1933 Helena Independent Newspaper stated:
Shearer, Valentine missing from Eugene, ORE since March 31, 1931six feet
tall, very hard of hearing carrying a carpendar union card & American
Legion card. Red Cross states wife & two children living in Lane Co., ORE
and totally dependent on relatives & friends.
March 9, 1949 Rose placed Reno, Nevada newspaper announcement dissolving
the marriage.

Laura Lea Nicholson
TATUM, Texas -- Laura Lea Nicholson, 28, of Tatum, Texas, and formerly of
Pittsburg, died Friday, Nov. 19 during childbirth at the Good Shepherd
Medical Center, at Tatum. Her unborn son, Ryan Anthony Nicholson,
preceded her in death.
She was born Aug. 12, 1971, at Hutchinson. She later lived at Pittsburg
and attended St. Mary's school. At the time of her death, Mrs. Nicholson
was living at Tatum, with her husband, Andy Nicholson. He survives of the
home.
She worked as an insurance coordinator for Blue Cross/ Blue Shield.
Additional survivors include her parents, Marlee and Chuck Schmitt and
Dave and Kay Redd, all of Longview, Texas; a brother, David Redd of
Longview; her grandmother, Wanda Redd of Pittsburg; and several nieces,
nephews and cousins.
A public prayer service was conducted Sunday at the Rader Funeral Home
Chapel of Longview. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St.
Matthew's Catholic Church with Monsignor John Flynn as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Rosewood Park Cemetery.
