I have questions concerning this Susannah Korns being the dau of Michael Korns of Somerset, PA...the book on the Korns family states her husband as John Shaver. There were Shaver's in the census everywhere there were Shearer's...same page as Shearer's in Hamilton Co., OH. The info I have here is from other researchers.

*note age in this census shows him born bet 1784 - 1775...date on tombstone said 1782 but grandaughter gives year of birth as 1777.
John's wife's age range in census 16 - 26
Settled in Marion CO., IN in 1827.

Federal Census June 1, 1850 records John, Susanna and daughter Catherine in Marion Co. IN. Catherine died the next year.

August 1, 1781, letter of administration for the estate of Henry "Sharer" of York Co. were granted to Catherine, the widow and Jacob Behr. In 1787 the children of Henry were listed in York Co. Orphans Court as Jacob, eldest, Andrew, Catherine, Elizabeth, Mary, Lewis and Henry.

In March 1789, Henry's 120 acre tract was appraised and sold by the sheriff and the sum divided among Henry Shearer's children plus Jacob Parr to whom Jacob "Sherer" and Elizabeth Sherer Kessler had sold their interest.

JOSEPH GERBERICH (2) was the youngest son of Peter, and seems to have been born in 1791, and died in 1846. He married Elizabeth Shearer (1786-1855) and they migrated from York County to Centre Co., Pa., sometime before 1830, settling in Marion Township. They had six children: John, Elizabeth, William, Jacob, Joseph, and Amos. Most of this family spell their name Garbrick.
