Mrs. Mary Shearer, a former resident of Akron and vicinity, died May 8,
1913, at her home in Sioux City, following an attack of paralysis, aged 76
years. The surviving relatives are three sons, J. Shearer of Sioux City;
F.M. Shearer of Portland, Ore.; L.H. (could be L.M. - print was too faint)
Jarvis, of Loveland, Colo; two daughters, Miss Margaret Shearer, of Sioux
City, and Mrs. Evaline Luckey, of Sommerford, Neb., and one sister, Mrs.
Evaline Ellmore, of Nevada, IN (obit says Indiana, but it is IOWA). The
remains were brought to Akron Sunday, accompanied by Miss Margaret Shearer
and other relatives. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. ?R.I.?
Stuart in the M.E. church Sunday afternoon and interment was made in
Riverside cemetery.

Born April 6, 1903 near Hartwick, the deceased moved with his family to a farm SW of Carnforth at an early age where he attended Sunset #8 school.
From 1916-1928, he farmed until moving to Victor; where he had been employed at the Creamer, Standard Oil, Cities Service, Victor Produce and Yeisley Elevator and Amana Refrigeration.
He married Margaret Merck on June 19, 1928 and was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter Mrs. (Glorine) Robert Berry, Iowa City; two grandchildren, Kathy Warden Anisworth and Christy Bowman, Iowa City a brother and five sisters, Cecil Lyman, Victor, Marie Haldky, FL Hazel Dolmage, Victor, Thelma Mohr West Liberty Dorothy Heishmann Des Plaines, IL and Bernice Reida Lake View.
