Jerry graduated from Stockton High in 1965 and from Personnel Training
Institute in Omaha, NE in Sept 1965. Worked for the Coleman Co. in
Wichita, KS He was killed in a car accident December 31, 1965 at age 18.

Sarah Ann West, daughter of Samuel and Margaret West was born Sept 9,
1866 in Gilmer Co., WV and departed this life Sept. 12, 1952 at her home
near Logan, KS, at the age of 86.
She came to Phillips Co., KS with her father and sister following the
death of her mother in 1873.
She was united in marriage to Frank Reynolds at Phillipsburg, KS on Jan.
14, 1884. To this union five children were born: Clara Lafferty of Logan,
Nora George and Effie Baxter of Cour d'Alene, Idaho; Mable Marvin of
Columbus, Montana and William Reynolds of Logan.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 23, 1935. She leaves to
mourn her departure her five children, four sons-in-law, one
daughter-in-law, twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, one
sister, Clara Crawmer of Speed, KS and one brother William West of
Spokane, Washington.
Funeral services were held at the Christian Church in Logan on Sept. 16,
1952 with Rev F. M. McDonald of Kensington, KS in charge and the Troup
Mortuary directing. Interment was in the Logan Cemetery.

Don Kern graduated from Stockton High School in 1949. He married Mary
Anspaugh on Jan. 26, 1955. Don served with the US Army from Nov. 1954 to
1956. He and Mary lived in Germany for 1 1/2 years during that time.
After discharge, Don graduated from Fort Hays State University in 1960.
Don was a teacher for 32 years and retired in 1992 in Omaha, NE.

NEVAQUAYA
Malcolm Tate NEVAQUAYA, Sr., was born December 12, 1921 at Richard Spur,
OK. He died April 24, 1986, at a Muskogee hospital. Services were held at
the Nevaquaya home place in Apache. Interment was a Memory Lane Cemetery
in Anadarko.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the
Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie NEVAQUAYA of the home, his six sons,
Albert ARSEE (step-son) of Okmulgee, Kenneth NEVAQUAYA and Frankie
NEVAQUAYA, both of Lawton, Malcome NEVAQUAYA, Jr., of Dallas, TX, Adam
NEVAQUAYA of Oklahoma City,, and Darrell NEVAQUAYA of Holbert; his three
daughters, Delores WHITE of St. Charles, MO, Vicky NEVAQUAYA of Anadarko,
and Millicent LANDERS of Morris; two brothers, Lindsey NEVAQUAYA of
Indiahoma, and Doc Tate NEVAQUAYA of Apache; one sister Greta LOGAN of
Garden Grove, CA; 21 grandchildren and five great grandchildren

After Samuel was discharged from military service, he married Margaret
Crumrine and lived in VA until 1868. Then they lived in Missouri from
1868 to 1872 moving to NE from 1872 to 1879. Margaret died in 1875 while
they were living in Nebraska.. said to have swallowed a pin while
sewing. S. M. and daughters Sarah and Martha then moved to Phillips Co.,
KS in 1879.
S. M. West m. 2nd Jennie A. Reynolds daughter of Wm Reynolds May 1, 1879.
They had 3 boys and 2 girls.
'Soon after 1882, S. M. West was appointed postmaster of Big Bend
(Speed), KS and was still postmaster in 1886. In 1886 Samuel built a new
store building just east of the old hotel and the following year sold out
to John Schurtz.' In 1886, the following businesses were in Big Bend: S.
M. West, postmaster, C. L. Sanford, feed-stable; Jacob Septor,
restaurant; Thos. Smith, stick dealers; Dr. S. M. Travis, general store;
J. A. West, general store and druggist.
