William W. Crouch
Collins - Funeral was May 29
at the EUB Church for William W.
Crouch who died in Branson, MO,
May 26.
The Rev. G. M. Talbott officiated.
A quartet of Mrs. Allan Struthers,
Mrs. Orris Swaim, William Cochran,
and Milton Hale sang. Flowers were
cared for by Mrs. Flavius Pritchard
and Mrs. Milton Hale.
Pallbearers were Allan Struthers,
Donald Huntrods, J. S. Tiffany, Lyle
Heintz, Al Spivey, and Paul Trieber.
Burial was in Collins Evergreen
Cemetery.
Mr. Crouch was born on a Story
County farm in 1870 and lived
most of his early life in the county.
He was married to Nellie Bence
in 1893.

DEATH of JACOB FOSTER
Jacob Foster, residing in Pilot Grove township from 1872 until 1897, and
since then residing in Red Oak, a respected citizen, died at his home
Monday, June 14. The funeral services were held at the home Wednesday
afternoon and were conducted by Rev. E. W. McDade, of the M. E. church.
The pallbearers were C. N. Heath, R. W. McIntyre, John W. Pogue, John
Petit, James Spicer, and John Spicer. Frank E. Foster, a son, came from
Galesburg, Ill., the day before his father died, and Jesse L. Foster,
another son, came from Des Moines Saturday. Joseph L. Foster, a son came
from Los Angeles Calif., in response to news of his father’s critical
illness, but arrived after the death of his father.
John M. Shearer, a brother
of Mrs. Foster, came from Sioux City to attend the funeral and Mr. and
Mrs. C. W. Copeland, the latter a sister of Mrs. Foster, from near
Elliott were here. Mr. Foster was in his 65th year. He was born in Warren
Co., Ill., March 18, 1844. He is survived by Mrs. Foster and six sons,
Frank, Joseph, Jesse, Roy, Charles, Pal and Fay. Mr. Foster owned a 160
acre farm in Pilot Grove township and gave most of his time to looking
after it.
