Individual note:
I am John Hern from England, the Herns originate from England and I have traced the family back to 1212 AD .The surname is derived from the old English word Hyrne"
"meaning" nook,"corner"from the phrase"in the herne which meant in a nook or corner. This first bearer of he name would have lived in a residence of this discriptionst. An early example of the use of this phrase is provided by Chaucer in the Canterbury Tales when he said
Lurking in hernes and inlanes blinde"
I hope this is of some use to you
by the way we do have a family crest
John Hern. .

Note for:   Earl Jaenicke,   1904 - 1914         Index
Burial:
Place:   Pleasant View Cemetery, Logan, Phillips Co., KS

Individual note:
Mr. and Mrs Richard Jaenicke have the sincere sympathy of the community in the loss of Their son Earl. Earl was born on the day of the cyclone in Beaver township. The babe was not an hour old, when the cyclone was seen coming and Mr. Jaenicke gathered the mother and child in his arms and carried them into the basement until the storm had passed. The storm missed the house by several hundred feet and demolished all that lay in its path. It was only fitting that the little life coming from heaven and finding such commotion here should return so peacefully and quietly.
