Scarburgh West, daughter of Lieut. Col. John West and Matilda Scarburgh,
was born in Accomack County, Virginia, about 1690. She married Thomas
Harding and they moved to North Carolina where they both died. Their
children were brought back to relatives in Princess Anne County, where
they made their home with William Robinson Smith.
