1900 Census states his mother was born in Rhode Island.

Claressa was born September 20, 1837 in Stafford, CT to Charles White and Lois Cushman. She married Daniel Webster Cole December 13, 1866 in Staffordville. He was a veteran of the Civil War and a widower with no children. His first wife, Martha Bicknell, died November 10, 1861 in Wales, MA. Daniel died March 9, 1907 in Topeka, KS and Claressa died June 27, 1921 in Logan, KS.

Daniel served as a private in Company I, 34th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry from July 16, 1862 until June 20, 1865. The pension file shows them living at Big Bend, Phillips County, KS in 1890, her living in Speed, Phillips County in March 1907.Daniel was admitted to the Topeka State Hospital for the Insane on August 28, 1906 and died there March 9. 1907.

Woman Pioneer of King County Dies

Harriett Hardin, widow, 78 years of age died at her home, 740 North Ninety-third street, Sunday of natural causes. She had lived in King county since 1871. Her first home in Washington was at Renton. Mrs. Hardin leaves two daughters and one son. They are Mrs. J. T. Hager, Seattle; Mrs Mary Fuller; Kent and William Hardin Seattle. The funeral will be help Tuesday at 2 p. m. from the residence in charge of the Home Undertaking Company.
