Ulrich Scherrer occupation in Speyerdorf: Gemeindsmann
In the 17th century and thereabouts "Gemeindsmann" in Germany was a
community position
instituted by a city council. The appointee had the job of investigating
any and all kinds of irregularities in the community,
both public and private, which came to the attention of the city fathers,
and he had to report back to the city council on his findings and the
development of events.

I know that she was a teacher at Shortridge High school in Indianapolis
Indiana. I believe that she was an art teacher, She was my fathers 2nd
cousin so that means she was born between 1890 and early 1900's. My
father was born 1915. I do know that her fathers name was Samuel Shearer
and she was an only child.
