*my understanding is all Union soldiers were dug up later and moved to a northern cemetery because the south didn't want them buried in their soil...so we have no information at this time if Andrew is still buried at Helena, Arkansas..

'Kellenbergers and Shearers from Pennsylvania, Maryland and Points West'
Their journey to PA was long and exhausting. First, they went down the Rhine River to Rotterdam or some other port, a route which involved passing through 26 customs houses; this usually required six weeks. When the ships reached Rotterdam, there too they were usually detained 5 or 6 weeks. During this period many of the passengers had to spend most of their money. The next stage of the journey was to Cours, or one of seven other ports in England. Here there was another delay of 1 to 2 weeks, while the ships cleared customs and waited for favorable winds. Then came the ocean voyage proper. This was full of suffering and hardship; the passengers were crowded too close together, without proper food, and fell victim to many diseases. In Philadelphia, the passengers were examined by a physician before they could leave the ship. Once ashore, they were taken to City Hall to swear allegiance to the British King. In a majority of cases, the services of the new arrivals were then sold to buyers for an agreed number of years, in return for the masters' payment of the expense of the ocean voyage.

Frederick grew so fast however that it became necessary to divide in into other counties as early as 1776. The sections south and west of South Mountain four other counties: Washington and Montgomery in 1776, Allegheny in 1789, and Garrett in 1872. Carroll County was another the division of these two large counties as it was formed in 1837 out of western Baltimore County and the eastern part of Old Frederick County.
