Christopher came to America from Germany to learn a printers trade at the age of 12 or 13. He lived in Rochester and worked for a printing company there. He apparently made all kinds of furniture before he died and Elizabeth had it in her home. He was shot in the head at the battle of Manassas and was a prisoner of war. He died the 28th of July 1879 in Buffalo, Erie, New York from an epileptic fit. Which, he started having after being wounded in the Civil War.
One time while she left to visit her sister. Prosper, Elizabeth's husband gave everything away and furnished the house with modern stuff this made Elizabeth sick and mad. She didn't speak to him for a while. My mother in-law still has some items. and I have an old child's kitchen play set he made before he died.
