HICKS, CORA F.
Cora F. Hicks, 80, of Chloe, died Saturday, Mar. 23, 1996, at the
residence of her daughter in Mineral Wells.
She was born in Milo, Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Ormo W.
and Cordelia West Rinehart. She was a homemaker and attended Walker
United Methodist Church.
Surviving are six sons, Gene Hicks of Ohio, Jarrett Hicks of
Statesville, N.C., Carroll "Buck" Hicks of Orma, Edward Hicks, Donnie
Hicks and Forest Hicks, all of Chloe; five daughters, Frances Edman
of Parkersburg, Sue Sampson of Mineral Wells, Gwendolyn Simmons of
Minnora, Patricia Siers of Chloe and Margaret Lantz of Mt. Clare; one
sister, Mildred Lyons of Akron; one halfbrother, Willard Rinehart of
Florida; 34 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Iras Hicks; one daughter,
Mary Parsons; three brothers; and one grandson.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Burial was in
Clark Jarvis Cemetery, Chloe.

Mary V. Parsons, 46, of Mt. Clair, Harrison County, died Wednesday, Mar.
15, 1995, at her home, following an extended illness.
She was born in Oka, a daughter of Cora Hicks of Chloe and the late Iras
Hicks. She was a 1968 graduate of Calhoun County High School and lived in
North Carolina for many years. She was a homemaker and member of Gordge
Savings Baptist Church, Spring Lakes, N.C.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Denzil "Jack"
Parsons; three daughters, Joyce Stafford of San Antonio, Tex., Stephanie
Collins of Fayetteville, N.C., and Beth Parsons of the home; a son, Ryan
Parsons of the home; six brothers, Gene Hicks of Crown City, Jarrett
Hicks of Statesville, N.C., Caroll "Buck" Hicks of Nicut, Edward Hicks,
Donald Hicks and Forest Hicks, all of Chloe; five sisters, Francis Edwin
of Parkersbirg, Gwendolyn Simmons of Minnora, Sue Sampson of Mineral
Wells, Patricia Siers of Chloe and Margarett Lantz of Mt. Clair; and two
grandchildren.
The body was cremated. Memorial services will be held at a later date
with internment in Clark Jarvis Cemetery, Chloe.
