Pater

Pater, The Father, discovered Mater lifeless and cold. Pater was so taken with her beauty that he breathed life into her and gave her four children: Ver, Aestas, Casus and Hiems. Pater is acknowledged as the power of life but is seen as an absent father. He is very rarely worshiped.

Mater

Mater, The Mother, is the sentient embodiment of the world itself. She is all things and all things come from her. Even those that do not worship The Mother respect her.

Ver

Ver is the first child of Pater and Mater. She is the spring goddess. She is new life, joy and beauty. She is prayed to for fertility and good crops. Ver is believed to be the favorite of Pater. Always depicted as a young and beautiful woman, Ver is also often thought of as naïve.

Aestas

Aestas is the second child of Pater and Mater. He is the summer god. He is strong, powerful and honest. Aestas is also considered the god of Justice.

Casus

Casus is the third child of Pater and Mater. She is the fall goddess. She is wise and reserved. Casus is the defender of women. Casus is always depicted as a mature woman. She is the goddess of the harvest and the patron of midwives.

Hiems

Hiems is the fourth child of Pater and Mater. He is the winter god. He is cold, bitter and unforgiving. Jealous of Ver and Aestas, Hiems resorted to alchemy to destroy all that they created. Snow was one of his alchemical solutions.

Silvae

Silvae is the first child of Ver and Aestas. She is the goddess of the forests. She very much resembles her mother, Ver. In the begining, much of Mater was covered in forests but Hiems' constant attempts to destroy all that Aestas and Ver create have changed much of the landscape.

Montis

Montis is the second child of Ver and Aestas. He is the mountain god. Like his father, he is strong and powerful but he also has a firey temper. Erupting volcanos are examples of his fury. Montis is also known as the defender of the weak.

Bestia Dominus

Bestia Dominus is a son of Ver and Aestas. He is the Beastlord and maintains dominion over all beasts. Bestia Dominus is fiercely protective of all his wards. Bestia Dominus and Silvae are known to have a forbidden love affair.

Furtum

Furtum is a son of Ver and Aestas. He is the God of Thieves. He is not considered evil, but mischievous. Furtum is always pitting family against family. He is also the god of luck and intrigue.

Bellum

Bellum is the first child of Casus and Hiems. Frustrated by his several failed attempts to destroy Ver and Aestas' creations, Hiems enlisted the aid of his son Bellum. Hiems taught him the secrets of combat and warfare. In turn, Bellum taught many of these secrets to mortals who then waged war against one another. However, even these prolonged wars failed to stop spring and summer from comming each year.

Mortis

Mortis is the second child of Casus and Hiems. Frustrated by his failed attempts to destroy Ver and Aestas' creations, Hiems taught Mortis all the secrets of death. It is Mortis' responsibility to see that every thing that dies is led to their proper place. Although he is the Lord of the Dead, he perceives necromancers to be an abomination. They interfere with the proper order of things and steal souls from him.

Oceanus

Oceanus is the third child of Casus and Hiems. Given birth to destroy the forrests of Mater, Oceanus soon covered a large portion of her surface. Montis raised up to defend his sister and battled Oceanus. To this day they still wage war against one another.

Sapientia

Sapientia is a child of Casus and Hiems. Casus' favorite, Sapientia was given access to the Library of the Gods. Sapientia is the keeper of knowledge and knows everything.
