The CDC Board is comprised of 7 volunteers who are appointed by the City Council to serve staggered 2 year terms. The Board has a president, vice president, treasurer and secretary. The Community Services Director, Pam Nelson oversees the operations of the Board and City Council member Allen Harris serves as the liaison between the Board and City Council. The CDC Board also provides input to the City regarding Parks & Recreation issues.

Board Meetings

Board meetings are held the second Thursday of every month in the conference room in the Parks & Recreation Administration office, on the south side of the Community Center building located at 5151 North Colony Blvd. The meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. and they are open to the public.

Meeting agendas are posted on the bulletin board at City Hall, this website and the City website. They must be posted 72 hours prior to the meeting date.

Public Hearings

The Board must conduct a Public Hearing before they spend money on proposed projects or a group of projects. A notice must be published in the local newspaper for 30 days before the public hearing can be held; it is posted in the legal classified section. Following the public hearing, a 60-day comment period is in effect. Funds may not be expended until the end of the 60 days, and must be approved by City Council.
