Gambling Kingpin Revealed!

July 3, 2002 Corpus Christi, TX

In a shocking revelation we have obtained tapes from a source we shall call "Deep Pockets" that prove Todd "Aces" Lyda is the Boss of an international gambling ring believed to be based in Thailand. Fearing for his life, Deep Pockets turned the tapes over to this organization Wednesday after assurances that his identity would not be revealed. On the tapes Todd "Aces" Lyda can be heard discussing intimate details of his international gambling organization during a high stakes game of poker. Copies of Deep Pockets' tapes were also made available to the F.B.I.. According to Robert Mueller, F.B.I. Director, Aces and his criminal activities have been under investigation for some time. Now that they have solid evidence, Mueller stated that a Grand Jury indictment should be handed down after the July 4th holiday.

At present Aces is conducting business in Nashville, TN through a front now known to be one of many money laundering operations. Aces is considered armed and dangerous and may have been tipped off by one of several F.B.I. moles on his payroll. Mueller stated, "It is clear that Mr. Lyda was aware of the search warrant for his business in Nashville well before that warrant was served". While Mueller would not comment on specific evidence obtained he did say, "We expect to gather more evidence as the sweep widens to include most of Mr. Lyda's holdings throughout America, Europe and Eastern Asia".

Aces has not been apprehended and a nation wide manhunt is underway. Aces is known to own a bike, several private jets and boats. The Coast Guard has been alerted and are actively searching for him.

The Thai Government is said to have committed significant resources to the investigation. Our offices in China are reporting that several gambling houses in Bangkok, Mae Hong Son, Nong Khai and Koh Chang have been raided and over 3.5 million dollars have been seized thus far. In addition over 166 people have been detained. 3 police officers were killed during the raid in Koh Chang. We have reports that as many as 27 suspects were also killed during a fire fight there.
