Among the various religions and philosophies in the world, the Bible has no peer in terms of its relationship to history. No other book or alleged collection of sacred writings even comes close to its connection with actual events in time. Some writings may have a point now and then, but they do not have a mountain of evidence which corroborates them as a whole like the Bible does. If any message from the Creator to the human race exists, what else could it be besides the Bible? Of course, if the Bible is really true, it needs to pass at least two tests. First, it must not contain any factual errors. Second, it must be logically coherent. Many have tried to rigorously apply these tests to the Bible in order to prove it to be false, but none have succeeded. If the Bible is the word of the Creator of the universe, which it claims to be, does it clearly tell us what we need to know about those things which are most important? In terms of our standing before an infinitely holy God and our eternal well-being, I submit that it does. Those who willfully and continuously reject what God has clearly revealed about Himself in His word or in creation will be judged according to what is written in His word (Matthew 7:24-27; Luke 10:16; John 12:48; Romans 1:18-21; Rev. 21:8).
