Evolution demands that we accept by blind faith the notion that all distinct species were produced by random mutations of preceding species and natural selection, and it has no explanation whatsoever for the origin of life itself. The fact that no processes to demonstrate such evolutionist ideas have ever been shown to be possible in the laboratory, however, doesn't seem to deter the ruling powers of academia from imposing evolutionism on every level, and from silencing those within their institutions who dare to question their dogmas. Why is this the case? After all, isn't science supposed to be engaged in the relentless pursuit of knowledge based on the application of sound reasoning to measurements and observations, regardless of where it may lead? An obvious reason why evolution is so carefully guarded from scrutiny is that it is a necessary foundation for militant secularism, and militant secularism cannot countenance the idea that a divine Creator who created all things perfectly exists, and that He has complete power over His creation and holds creation accountable to Himself. Although evolutionary theory by itself may not necessarily be incompatible with the idea of a divine Creator, it appears to at least suggest that the existence of a Creator is unnecessary, and since it apparently does not require a Creator, it is held onto tightly by militant secularists who have no other option for an explanation for the origin of species. What difference does it make whether one agrees with evolutionary theory or not? Or if one is indifferent about it? It matters for two reasons. First, if one seeks to believe that which is best supported by the available evidence, at least one is attempting to have a view which matches reality, and one's view of reality affects everything one does, including one's understanding of its ultimate meaning. Second, if one chooses a position simply to find a convenient excuse to avoid being accountable to anyone or anything, one is simply engaged in an exercise of fooling oneself, even if one is surrounded by a multitude of friends who never challenge such fallacious thinking. Accountability will not go away even if people manage to avoid it for their entire lives. NOTE: A movie related to the above comments is Ben Stein's Expelled. Where would you like to go now?
