OK, so, actually, for many bikers, the ride starts on Friday evening with a quick (17 mile) ride from the border into Goodland. Yours truly included. It makes for a short day on Saturday, going from Goodland to Colby.
Goodland's latest attraction was this Van Gogh piece, enlarged to barn-size, and displayed on an equally huge easel:

The tree in this next picture can't come close to describing the actual windspeed that day in Colby. The wind slapped tents around all day, evening, and night. The smarter tenters moved inside to the gym. We slower units stayed out in it, abandoning any hope of getting sleep.
