Today's ride to Hill City was through a strong southerly wind blowing perpindicular to our path.

An informal poll reveals that, in conditions like these, one's south ear collects a lot more soil than one's north. However, despite the wind, bikers seemed to maintain their positive attitude.

Lunch was found at the Cottonwood Ranch, just a few miles west of Hill City. Sandwiches, lemonade, and a brief tour of this restored ranch building made for a nice break from the wind.

Tomorrow, we'll be riding directly into that same south wind...
