No, we didn't get the break we wanted today. Still hot. Still windy. Still have those dirty south ears.
Today's first stop was in the town of Victoria, home of The Cathedral of the Plains.

Another beautiful church.
The ride into Ellsworth was made a little more difficult because of a gravel road detour to get around a bridge that was under construction. The evening was spent at the armory in Ellsworth, where storm clouds gathered.

Later in the afternoon, a tornado siren was sounded, the winds howled, and rain came down in sheets. Folks hotel-ing at the north end of town reported seeing a funnel form and kick up a bunch of debris. Here's a photo taken from inside the armory, looking to the the northwest, where many campers had already pitched their tents.

The white spots on the grass are nearly-golfball-size hailstones. Ouch. Many of the tents were flattened, nearly everything was soaked. Later in the evening, the weather cleared enough for folks to get their tents mopped up, but a storm the next morning nailed any laundry that had been hanging up to dry.
We hope for a good day tomorrow.
