Day 0 - Sharon Springs to State Line, and back
 Route Map  Elevation Profile

Kansas isn't flat.  Just wanted to get that out of the way.

This 30th edition of Biking Across Kansas started when folks gathered at Sharon Springs, 17 miles east of the Colorado border, on Friday, June 4.  A bunch of riders made the quick ride out to the border that evening.

The storm clouds you see (and the lightning you don't) prompted us quickly back to Sharon Springs, where we dined on obscenely-sized smoked sausages at The Hideout.

Oh, and my favorite fixed-gear was the vehicle of choice again this year:

Really...everyone should have one of these machines.  No, you may not coast, and no, you may not shift gears.  However, the upside is the momentum generated by that rear wheel pushing the pedals around for you.  That's pretty cool.
