After spending about 16 hours driving from Kansas, and about 3 hours riding in a tour bus to the start, it was good to finally get on the bike.
I thought I'd take my fixed-gear bike on this tour, having had good luck with it on other rides this year.

One gear, no coasting. It's really NOT an "instrument of torture", like some folks thought. And it was perfect for the fairly flat route of this year's SAGBRAW.
I caught another single-speeder. This one is all decked out with horn, radio, lights, bell, PA system, streamers, and a mailbox. He said that he understood that we were "supposed to have fun" on this tour, so he brought it with him.

Today's ride took us through woodsy country for a while, before stopping for a late breakfast at a nice diner in Crivitz. We continued back east and followed the Menominee River back to Marinette, where we spent our second night.

Both yesterday and today, a mid afternoon meal was enjoyed at the Railhouse Restaurant and Brewery. I enjoyed their award-winning Scottish Ale. I see why it won.
Tomorrow, on to the Green Bay area...
