Day 5 - Waupun to Hartford

One of the surprising services available on this ride was Bubba's Pampered Pedalers.  (Bubba is on the left.)  For a fee, he'll set up a tent (one of the blue ones on the right), blow up an air mattress, and move it all to the next night's stop for each customer.

Today's route was full of rollers into the town of Hartford.  Yes, I still like the fixed-gear bike.  It gets me up the hills faster than a lot of the other bikes get their riders, and it's kind of a trip to spin down the other side, and on the flats, it's just wonderful.

Not long after leaving Waupun, we detoured to the Horicon Marsh Wildlife Area, where we viewed flocks of birds through these telescopes:

A cool drizzle fell near the end of today's ride.  Really pretty refreshing compared to the warmer temperatures of the previous days.

The late-afternoon meal was at the Mineshaft, a huge restaurant downtown, with a varied menu and a nice selection of micro-brews.
