No Sex #15
This
issue was 32 digest-offset pages on white stock. It features a wrap-around
cover and certainly did not have the amount of content of the single digit
issues. For some reason I wanted to set the issues in volumes and came to calling this
one Volume 3 number 5. I guess it was 5 issues a volume. Little did I know I was
close to the end of the run and it would not matter.
Content: Wrap-around cover by Randy Townsend, it does not illustrate a feature in the issue.
Okay, this issue has a feature that was really fun
for me because it was about a subject I had wanted to work on for years. It has
been part of my art and story universe since the beginning and i finally get to
show it in the feature strip in this issue, How I came to
Matriculate at Luna Tech It is a story by me illustrated by
George Lane, Gary
Barker and Klaus Haisch. What a hoot! It is about a University on the Moon, Luna
University of technology, Luna Tech. The issue also sees a strip by Brad
Foster, Adventures of the Gang and the usual features that came to be
known in fandom for the zine. I mentioned earlier that I liked astronomy. A
friend of Jim Grays' provides an article on telescope-less astronomy. I get back
to the comics roots with a full-pager by Rafael Kayanan that could have appeared
again as a cover to an issue to the left.
Randy Townsend, David Heath, George Lane III, Jerry Collins, Gary Barker, Joan Hanke-Woods, Steve Campos, George Kochell, Brad Foster, Willie Peppers, Gene Bearinger, Rafael Kayanan, Jeff Wilcox, Robert Barger, Jerry Foley, ERQ, Jim Sams, Mark Hall, Kim Wheat, Rex Munsee, Steve Souza, Art Flores.
Notes:
There issue is an example of the crossbreeding between NS and the N3F publications as mentioned before. In this issue Joan Hanke-Woods, George Kochell and Brad Foster come courtesy of that forum. I have been getting a lot of feedback from this site. It is searchable on Google. A lot of people searching their own names find the site. Here is a blast from a solid contributor to the magazine; "I just discovered your website!!! What a blast from the past my friend. I hope all is well with you and I'm glad you put up a NS website! I've been doing lots of crazy stuff lately and traveling a lot working on film projects. Anyway- just wanted to drop you a note and say that the website is something that brought me many smiles!" - Rafael Kayanan 12/2/02.
