The self-described "avant garde metal" quartet will perform with L.A. Guns Friday in the Alrosa Villa, 5055 Sinclair Rd. Doors open at 8 p.m.

Accept it or not, the group has been around since 1977, fronted by the inimitable Udo dirkschneider, who confides: "There are artists who don't give a damn what they sing and write. But we're a band that tries to incorporate topics which interest us personally."

So what's been interesting the boys lately? Their 1995 album Death Row includes cheerful ditties as Guns 'R' Us, Sodom & Gomorrah, Stone Evil and Bad habits Die Hard.

L.A. Guns has released five albums and sold 5 million discs since forming in 1986. The band currently consists of founding members Tracii Guns, Steve Riley (no connection with the Mamou Playboys) and Johnny crypt, as well as new singer Roxy Dahl.
