Will Never Forget A REAL AMERICAN HERO GOD BLESS
We were in Cambodia. We went in 116 strong, and within a week we were down to 28 fighting men it was our whole company. We had lost our Company Commander and XO, along with our acting 1st Sgt. the day before. We had a 7 man platoon that went out on a clover leaf patrol. We had stopped to take a break, and out of this dried up creek bed a nva soldier appeared. We all fanned out and took our fighting positions and began to fire. The nva had thrown a chicom into our perimeter. Sgt. Kuykendall took his helmet off and put it over the frag, and laid on top of his helmet. This has haunted me for years. I just wanted people to know what he gave for the rest of us!
HE DESERVES THE MEDAL OF HONOR.
No greater love is there, than a man lay down his life for his friends!
Your Friend, Eskimo B 2/5 1st Cavalry 3rd platoon 1st Squad.
We Love You Bro!
Lord, You know the truth, he has a place in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
