To put this simply. Live365 will start charging the broadcaster for the number of simultaneous listeners, (SL), that the station can have. It's called a CAP. It's the maximum capacity the station can cost effectively provide. This cap only applies to those who listen for free. Under the current plan, I could have an unlimited amount of simultaneous listeners that listened to the station free of charge. In fact, on a typical day the simultaneous listener number, or Cap, for Fresh and Smooth Jazz gets up to about 700 listeners. I think the record for the station is 707. Under the new plan, the station will only be able to support about 300 simultaneous listeners. And the rest of you, around 400 or so, will be locked out, behind the velvet rope if you will. And maybe not even 300 but only 100 since this amount is determined by my ability to pay. And folks let me tell ya! Whew the way things are these days, I may not be able to listen to myself. Ya hear me? So here is the shameless plug and the solution I hope you will all elect. Become a VIP preferred member. Pay the $3 or $4 buck per month or the 0.12 cents a day or whatever the deal-ee-o is and continue to make Fresh and Smooth your favorite station. If you become a preferred member, not only can you listen to Fresh and Smooth Jazz anytime you want, but you can listen to any other station anytime you want. I cannot imagine why you would want to listen to anything else but that is another story. I want to tell you all that this station has had success beyond what I ever thought it could be. Fresh and Smooth is heard in every country on the planet. Arbitron has ranked Fresh and Smooth Jazz #32 web broadcast in the world. The numbers are cool but what really matters and mean the most to me is what you all have told me. I've spoken with many of you. I believe you when you say that this station gets you through your work day. To those of you who told me that you like the station so much that you actually went out a bought a high speed connection just to listen from home. To the countless dinner parties that Fresh and Smooth has put on right there at your house, to the doctors and dentist offices and car dealerships, ( I hear we can move a Lexus), that Fresh and Smooth supplies with great music. I have accepted the challenge and take it very seriously what you have entrusted me to do. I will do my best to not let you down in the doctor's office and the dealerships and at the job. So pull out your wallets, check books, purses, socks, hankies or whatever and become a preferred member. I promise to do my part, even bigger and better than I have done to date. That's my promise to you. So let's do this. Sign up for your preferred memberships, pay the .12 cents a day and vote for me, darnit! Well as
many of you may have heard, Live365 has announced it's new broadcaster
packages. And you be sure, the relationship between the producer and
the consumer is in full effect. You do know the relationship between
the producer and the consumer right? Ok, for those of you who may not
have heard. When the producer names the tune, the consumer has to dance.
This is not "Name that Tune"
but it might be "Musical Chairs".
So put on your dancing shoes and I hope your soles are soft. Folks Fresh
and Smooth is booming. It's listed on ITunes and on Real One Player
in addition to being #1 in the jazz genre and as of this writing #4
overall at Live365. It's popularity is a blessing and a curse to the
point that you may have to wait in line to get in. Starting on June
1st, the powers that be, no not the fire marshal, has place
limits on how many of you are allowed into this party at the same time.
But there are solutions to this problem.
