| Big Spring, Van Buren Mo. This is one of largest fresh
water springs in the world. |
 |

|
Former site of the Kansas City Club House. It was struck by
lightening in the mid 70's and burnt down. It was built in 1885 as a hunting lodge
by the Frisco railroad. The old railroad bed is below the bluff and goes all the way
to Van Buren. The view in picture is toward Van Buren about 6 miles away. |
| This is the beach and boat launch below the bluff.
Motor vehicles can no longer be ridden on the railroad bed from Hunter to Van Buren.
We use to go up river and float back down on tubes. |

|
This is looking toward the entrance of Cave Spring. The wooden
structure is no longer standing. On top the hill above the spring there is another
entrance to cave. |
| Here we are looking into the cave. Years ago people dammed up
the water inside the cave. I guess to power the mill and provide drinking water.
The water inside is about waist deep and COOOLD! |

To the left and below is a picture of Cave Spring creek about
1/4 mile before it enters Current River. |
