I grew up in Poplar Bluff, Mo. and graduated from high school in 1972. Went to Three Rivers Community College from '73 to 74' and graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla in '76 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Special thanks to my high school and college math teachers, Mr. Keeter, Mr. Litzenfelner, Mrs. Steinmetz; and science teachers Mr. Gifford, Mr. Ivester, and Mr. Morris.
My first job was as Brake Product Engineer at Wagner Electric in St. Louis. I designed tandem master cylinders for automobiles and acted as an expert witness in litigation involving my product line. Bonnie was my secretary there and it was love at first sight. We were married within a year, July 16th, 1978.

In 1981 I left for Emerson Electric to work as a New Product Development Engineer. At Emerson I design all the mechanical components for a fractional horsepower electric motor, I.E. bearing and lubrication systems, housings, electrical insulation systems and plastic parts. Today I supervise a small group in the Air Moving Motor Division that designs those components and fixes production problems. I have seven patents on various motor inventions.

I work at the Emerson Motor Technology Center near Lambert Airport. We have a lot of cool stuff here. Pro/Engineer software for solid model design. This enables us to make a Stereolithography (SLA) part of our design. SLA is a rapid prototyping process which produces a plastic model of the design in about 8 hours. Very useful for explaining to those having to make your idea work in production.
