The Los Altos School District needs a Board member who understands how schools operate from the administrative level to the classroom. School Board membership is demanding. It requires a firm understanding of school finances, the needs and desires of teachers, parents, and other interests in the community. It needs someone who can balance these sometimes conflicting needs. David Struthers brings the right combination of experience in public education and community service. He is the right candidate at the right time.

  • B.S. in Geology from University of Michigan
  • M.A. in Education from University of Michigan
  • M.A. Mathematics from Syracuse University
  • 44 years of experience in Public Education including 28 years as math teacher at Gunn High School in Palo Alto and 10 years at Foothill College.
  • Supervisor of student teachers at Simon Frazier University in British Columbia.
