Instructions:
1)
Line up 7-9 people in a line spanning 60-80 yards
~15 yards apart. Head of line is the handler,
all other participants are cutters. Handler
should be 20 yards from first cutter.
2)
Handler traverses the line, one cutter at a time,
either to the left or the right of cutters.
3)
Each cutter makes only a very short comeback cut
just prior to the handler throwing the disk.
4)
The first cutter then goes to the front of the
line and waits for the handler to finish and then
becomes the next handler.
5)
Go through line four times each, twice on the
left side and twice on the right side.
Things to remember:
1)
Both the cutter and handler need to
decelerate into their respective catches
2)
Cutters need to throw a backhand with the hand
that is nearest to the handler (righty to their right
side and lefty to their left.)
3)
Handler needs to throw with all weight and
balance on pivot foot.
4)
Don’t travel.
Alternate version: use the
techniques in the Back Pivot
drill every other time you catch the disc. This is
exhaustion but fruitful.
*note---technically, the Handlers
passes should be a lefty backhand or righty sidearm
going up the right side of the chain and conversely,
lefty sidearm or righty backhand going up the left side
of the chain. But for the sake of simplicity, do
whatever is most comfortable and powerful for you.
Fundamentals Emphasized:
1)
Balance
2)
Symmetry
3)
Penetration
4)
Motion
5)
Spacing
6)
Ambidexterity
