The Bountiful Garden Foundation is a completely volunteer run, nonprofit organization which promotes healthy, sustainable agriculture in the local community by raising premium produce that is then converted into fundraising for local and international humanitarian organizations.
Any produce that we raise that can not be converted to cash gets deposited directly into local food banks such as Second Harvest, Salvation Army or small municipal relief organizations.
Mission
The Bountiful Garden Foundation is an independent 501c(3) not-for-profit (status
pending) organiztion.
Our model is that every penny we get for our tomatoes, fruits and vegetables goes directly towards humanitarian trauma relief. We've selected IAHV (The International Association for Human Values) as our recipient due to their scientifically proven techniques for alleviating trauma associated symptoms. Recently, IAHV was named the official post traumatic stress disorder organization by the New Orleans city council in the wake of Hurricane Katrina (where BGF's money has gone for the past two years).
We cover our own internal operational expenses by having a tomato plant sale each spring thus making us a completely self-sustaining and self-contained organization.
We charge a fair price for a quality product and we are not a charity (although
we'd gladly accept one if you'd like to give us a
donation).
