The Continuation Give and Go move is an excellent
way to maintain any separation that you may have built
up on your defender and to keep the disc flowing.
In the Continuation Give and Go move, the idea is to
jump up into the air just prior to catching the disc
(this requires cooperation from the thrower to make sure
that he doesn't throw downwards or too far out in front
of you), come down straight, plant both feet and
establish the front one as your legal pivot, begin to
accelerate again and release the disc prior to the front
foot coming up off the ground (and even both feet if
possible). It whole play works best if you're able
put a big airbounce on the throw and the fact that your
whole body is falling downwards will help get a good
bounce on the throw.
Also, what is extremely useful about
this move is that if you jump up to catch the disc and
while you're coming down, you realize that the receiver
isn't open, you can collect your balance and still have
both feet planted and do so without the risk of
committing a traveling violation (although you have to
be careful that some punk ass defender doesn't dry hump
you because you've been able to come to such an abrupt
and sudden stop and there's no penalty for him fouling
you).
